RWA perps on herrenlos: a read-only preview, and why they matter

herrenlos is previewing leveraged RWA perpetuals — tokenized equities, an index, and gold — via Hyperliquid. It's a read-only estimator today: no positions are opened, signed, or custodied. Here's what a perp is, what the page does now, and the honest risks.

herrenlos started as a swap aggregator and grew into lending — always the same rule: show you the real numbers first, act non-custodially from your own wallet, and don't ship a button over a path that isn't finished. The Perps page applies that discipline to a harder, riskier product: leveraged perpetuals on real-world assets. Today it is a preview, and this post is about being precise on what that means.

What a perpetual is, in one paragraph

A perpetual future — a "perp" — is a leveraged bet on a price that never expires. You post collateral, pick a direction (long or short) and a leverage multiple, and the position tracks an underlying market at that multiple. Instead of a settlement date, a periodic funding payment passes between longs and shorts to keep the perp tethered to the underlying's price. Leverage cuts both ways: it magnifies gains and losses alike, and if the price moves far enough against you, the position is liquidated and the collateral is lost.

What the herrenlos Perps page is today

The Perps page is a read-only preview of leveraged RWA perpetuals via Hyperliquid (including trade.xyz HIP-3 markets). You choose a market, a direction, collateral in USD, and a leverage multiple; the page pulls live data from the venue and estimates the things that actually decide whether a trade is sane:

  • Position size and the entry fill at your chosen slippage.
  • Funding cost over a holding horizon you pick (1h / 8h / 24h / 7d), at the current rate.
  • The liquidation level, and the market's maximum leverage (read live, not guessed).

That is the whole product for now — an estimator to help you understand a position before you would ever open one.

To be blunt about the boundary: herrenlos does not open, sign, or custody perp positions. The page says so in its own words — the numbers are estimates to help you reason about a trade before non-custodial (agent-wallet) execution ships. It carries a "Preview only" badge and is deliberately kept out of search indexes until the feature is fully wired. Non-custodial execution is gated behind a server-side switch (and a matching client switch) that is off by default — there is no live mainnet trading here, and nothing on the page signs a transaction.

Why RWAs on perps

The markets on preview are real-world assets expressed as perps: tokenized equities (e.g. TSLA, NVDA), an index (XYZ100), and gold (XAU), via Hyperliquid's HIP-3 markets. The appeal is straightforward — a perp gives synthetic, leveraged exposure to an asset without holding the underlying, and a venue like Hyperliquid runs continuously and permissionlessly rather than on a broker's hours behind an account application. For an aggregator whose whole thesis is "route to the best executable venue, keep custody with the user," RWA perps are a natural extension: the same asset classes people already want, reached the same way we reach swaps and lending.

herrenlos's direction follows from that. Aggregate the venue honestly, keep execution non-custodial when it lands, and ship a preview you can trust first — not a "trade now" call-to-action over a half-built execution path. You can follow where this goes on the roadmap.

Risks, stated plainly

Perps are the riskiest surface herrenlos touches, so the honesty has to be sharpest here:

  • Leverage is dangerous. It amplifies losses as readily as gains, and liquidation can wipe the collateral. Higher multiples liquidate on smaller moves.
  • This is a preview, not execution. The figures are estimates from live venue data, not fills. Funding rates, mark prices, and available leverage change constantly. Always verify on the venue itself before acting anywhere.
  • None of this is financial advice. The preview is a tool for understanding a position's mechanics, not a recommendation to take one.

If you want to look, open the Perps page, set a small collateral and a modest leverage, and read the estimate — the liquidation price and funding cost especially. That is exactly what the preview is for: see what a leveraged RWA position really implies before anyone builds the button that opens one.
